People-first purpose
We create pages to help readers compare gambling-related websites and understand the limits of traffic data. We follow Google’s helpful, reliable, people-first content guidance: explain who made the content, how it was made and why it exists; add original organisation and analysis; and avoid presenting estimates as certainty.
Source hierarchy
- Primary: laws, regulator registers, government publications, court records and operator licence records.
- Official secondary: regulator guidance, consultations and formal industry filings.
- Established specialist sources: legal practices, recognised trade publications and market research used with clear attribution.
- Traffic intelligence: aggregated estimates from Semrush, Ahrefs, Similarweb and other audience-measurement providers.
For legal and licensing claims, we prefer the closest available primary source. Industry reporting can identify a change, but material legal conclusions should be checked against official information whenever possible.
Ranking and classification rules
Traffic rank measures estimated visits; it is not a quality score, safety endorsement or recommendation to gamble. Websites are classified by the services available on the exact domain:
- Gambling: the complete gambling-related traffic set.
- Betting: real-money operators offering betting, casino, gambling or similar products.
- Sports betting: real-money sportsbooks and bookmakers.
- Online casino: real-money casino operators.
- Lottery: government, local and private lottery services.
- Info: news, affiliate, odds, free-play, software-provider and other non-operator websites.
A domain may appear in more than one operator category when it genuinely offers multiple products. Lottery-only websites belong in Lottery rather than Betting. Informational websites do not belong in real-money operator lists.
Updates, review and corrections
Traffic data is normally refreshed monthly after provider reporting becomes available. Regulatory information has its own review date because law and enforcement can change independently of traffic. New domains are researched before classification; existing classifications are revisited when services change or readers identify an error.
Send corrections with the exact URL and, where possible, a regulator or primary-source link to [email protected]. We assess evidence, correct material errors and update the relevant page.
AI assistance and accountability
ChatGPT and Claude have assisted with research organisation, drafting, translation and repetitive page production. AI output is not treated as an authority or cited as evidence. Editorial responsibility remains with the publisher, and important claims should be traceable to the links shown on the page.
Advertising and independence
Affiliate relationships and sponsored links help fund the site. They do not determine organic traffic positions. Paid placements are visually labelled, and commercial partners do not receive approval rights over independent editorial conclusions.
